Home Made Peanut Butter: Submitted by: Bill | Date Added: 28 Jul 2012
Listed in: Nuts and seeds / Peanuts

4 cups unsalted roasted peanuts
1 tsp sea salt
1 tbs peanut oil
1/4 cup chopped peanuts

Recommended Instructions

Ever wonder why peanut butter is so expensive, convenience. Have you ever looked at the ingredients in store bought peanut butter? There are words I cannot pronounce, enter home made peanut butter.

1. Put the 4 cups of peanuts in a strong blender with the 1 tbs peanut oil. Blend on high until smooth. Some blenders may require you to stop the blender and move the mixture toward the blade. At some point the peanuts will get creamy. Be patient.
2. After peanut mixture is smooth, stop blender and add the sea salt, then blend until incorporated.
3. for crunchy style, which I like, add the chopped peanuts and pulse blender a few times just to mix the chopped nuts into the creamy smooth peanut mixture.

And there you have it, home made crunchy peanut butter that is healthy and contains no preservatives, which means a shorter shelf life, but is oh so good, so it won't last long anyway... Enjoy.
