Osumashi (Basic Clear Soup):

5 cups water
1 pkg katsuo dashinomoto
1 Tbsp shoyu
1 tsp salt

1 small can hokkigai, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
Spinach or Mizuna
kamaboko, sliced
nori, toasted

Recommended Instructions

Make clear soup.
Boil greens in salted water, drain and cut in 1 1/2 inch lengths.
Broil Mochi until soft.
Place mochi, greens, kamaboko, hokkigai, and toasted nori into soup bowls and pour soup over all.

Yield: 6 servings
